However, the Ball Valve also needs to be correctly selected, installed and used correctly to ensure that no problems will occur after it is put into operation. The Ball Valve is used on the steam pipeline. It has been put into use for just one or two months before the user reported it for repair.
When I went to the scene, I saw a large amount of steam being discharged from the exhaust hole of the Ball Valve diaphragm head, making a huge noise and shocking momentum. The cause of the accident was obviously that the steam was directly loaded into the membrane head without passing through the condenser, thus burning the diaphragm.
When installing a Ball Valve for steam pipes, a condenser must be added between the actuator and the pipe to prevent steam from entering the membrane head of the actuator. The Ball Valve must be installed head down, and the condenser must be higher than the membrane head, be sure to fill the condenser and membrane head with water for the first time. Looking at the on-site installation method and asking the on-site instrument personnel, there is no problem, so what is the cause? It's puzzling. Later, I asked an operator carefully and accidentally learned that after the Universal Valve was installed and put into use, the joint between the condenser and the membrane head had been leaking intermittently. It turns out that the water leaking from the inverted condenser slowly leaked out, and the steam entered the membrane head and burned the diaphragm.
