How should the Ball Valve be maintained during use?

① Keep the exterior and moving parts of the Ball Valve clean to protect the integrity of the Ball Valve paint.

The surface of the Ball Valve, the trapezoidal threads on the Valve Stem and the valve stem nut, the sliding parts of the valve stem nut and the bracket, and the gears, worm gears and other parts are prone to deposit a lot of dust, oil, and medium residues, which cause wear and corrosion to the Ball Valve. Therefore, the Ball Valve should be kept clean at all times. The general dust on the Ball Valve can be swept with a brush and blown with compressed air, or even brushed with a copper wire brush until the machined surface and the matching surface show a metallic luster and the painted surface shows the original color of the paint. The Steam Trap should be responsible for at least once per shift; regularly open the flushing valve and the bottom thread plug of the steam trap for flushing, or regularly disassemble and flush to prevent dirt from clogging the Ball Valve.

② Keep the Ball Valve lubricated, the trapezoidal threads of the Ball Valve, the sliding parts of the valve stem nut and the bracket

The bearing position, the meshing parts of the gear and the worm gear, and other matching moving parts all require good lubrication conditions to reduce mutual friction and avoid mutual wear. For parts without oil cups or oil nozzles, which are easily damaged or lost during operation, the lubrication system should be repaired and equipped to ensure that the oil circuit is unblocked.

Lubrication parts should be refueled regularly according to specific conditions. Ball Valve that are frequently opened and have high temperatures are suitable for refueling once a week to a month; Ball Valve that are not frequently opened and have low temperatures can have a longer refueling cycle. Lubricants include engine oil, butter, molybdenum disulfide and graphite. Engine oil is not suitable for high-temperature Ball Valve; butter is not suitable either, as they will melt and flow away due to high temperatures. High-temperature Ball Valve are suitable for adding molybdenum disulfide and wiping graphite powder. If butter and other grease are used for lubrication parts exposed to the outside, such as trapezoidal threads and between teeth, it is very easy to be contaminated with dust, while molybdenum disulfide and graphite powder lubrication are not easy to be contaminated with dust and the lubrication effect is better than butter. Graphite powder is not easy to apply directly, and can be used with a little engine oil or water to make a paste.

③ Keep the two parts complete and intact

The bolts of the flange and bracket should be complete and fully buckled, and no looseness is allowed. If the fastening nut on the handwheel is loose, it should be tightened in time to avoid wearing the connection or losing the handwheel. After the handwheel is lost, it is not allowed to replace the handwheel with a flap, and it should be replaced in time. The packing pressure difference is not allowed to be skewed or without pre-tightening clearance. In an environment that is easily contaminated by rain, snow, dust and other dirt, the valve stem should be installed with a protective cover. The scale on the Ball Valve should be kept intact and accurate. The lead seal, cap, pneumatic accessories, etc. of the Ball Valve should be complete and intact. The insulation jacket should be free of dents and cracks.

In addition, it is not allowed to knock, support heavy objects or stand on the Ball Valve to avoid dirtying the Ball Valve and damaging the Ball Valve. Especially for non-metallic mesh doors and cast iron Ball Valve, these taboos should be paid more attention.

④ Maintain daily maintenance of electric devices

Maintenance of electric devices is generally not less than once a month. The maintenance content includes: the surface should be clean, without dust accumulation, the device should not be contaminated by soda, water, and oil; the sealing surface and points should be firm and tight. There is no leakage; the lubrication parts should be oiled as required, and the valve stem nuts should be greased; the electrical parts should be intact, without phase failure, the automatic switch and thermal relay should not trip, and the indicator light should display correctly.
