Analysis of how to correctly install Plug Valve

As Plug Valve are used more and more frequently, the total market sales have shown a step-by-step growth, and companies have also given certain recognition to the performance of Plug Valve. However, in terms of the installation of Plug Valve on boilers, many companies face similar problems, and the problems are concentrated on the inability to find the correct installation position and the inability to use them normally.

First of all, we need to clarify a purpose. In the installation of various Universal Valve, there should be no resistance at the outlet to avoid internal damage caused by excessive pressure. So, how should the Plug Valve be correctly installed on the boiler?

1. If the evaporation capacity of the boiler is greater than 0.5t/h, at least two Plug Valve should be installed; for boilers with a rated evaporation capacity of less than 0.5t/h, at least one should be installed. Universal Valve must be installed at the outlet of the separable economizer and the outlet of the steam superheater.

2. For boilers with a rated steam pressure of ≤3.82MPa, when selecting a Plug Valve, it should be noted that its throat diameter cannot be less than 25mm; for boilers with a rated steam pressure of ＞3.82MPa, its throat diameter needs to be no less than 20mm.

3. If the Plug Valve is installed on the connecting pipe of the boiler, its cross-sectional area should be larger than the inlet cross-sectional area of the Universal Valve. If multiple valves are installed at the same time, the passage cross-sectional area of the short pipe should not be less than 1.25 times the exhaust area of all Universal Valve.

4. The Plug Valve should be installed vertically at the highest position of the drum and the header. The steam outlet pipe and valve are not allowed to appear between the two, otherwise unpredictable effects may occur.

5. The installation location of the Plug Valve should generally be on the exhaust pipe, and the direction of the exhaust pipe should lead to a safe place, and sufficient cross-sectional area is required to ensure its smooth passage. At the bottom of the exhaust pipe of the Universal Valve, there should be a water pipe connected to a safe place, and no other valves are allowed to be installed on either.

Correct installation of the Plug Valve will help to increase the service life of the Universal Valve and better play its due protection role. Therefore, before installing the boiler Plug Valve, the enterprise must first be familiar with the correct installation steps of the Plug Valve and eliminate installation misunderstandings to achieve better use results.
