Development History of Gate Valve

The development of Gate Valve has a history of seventy or eighty years since the beginning of the 20th century. Ten major categories of Gate Valve products, self-operated valves and positioners have been produced successively. The development history is as follows:

The original Gate Valve for stable pressure came out.
The double-seat valve and single-seat valve with "V" notch were the representative products.
The positioner appeared, and new varieties of Gate Valve were further produced, such as diaphragm valves, pneumatic angle seat valves, butterfly valves, ball valves, etc.
The Ball Valve was widely promoted and used, and the three-way valve replaced two single-seat valves in the system.
There is a complete series of products in China. The seven products of single-seat valves, double-seat valves, angle seat valves, three-way valves, diaphragm valves, butterfly valves and ball valves that we are still using in large quantities are still products at the level of the 1960s. At this time, foreign countries began to launch the eighth structural Gate Valve-sleeve valve.
Another new structural product-Eccentric Rotary Valve came out (the ninth major structural Gate Valve variety). During this period, sleeve valves were widely used abroad. In the late 1970s, the domestic joint design of the sleeve valve enabled China to have its own sleeve valve product series.
In the early 1980s, due to reform and opening up, China successfully introduced petrochemical equipment and Gate Valve technology, which promoted the use of sleeve valves and eccentric rotary valves, especially sleeve valves, which are likely to replace single and double seat valves, and their use is becoming more and more widespread. In the late 1980s, another major progress in Gate Valve was Japan's Cv3000 and precision small Gate Valve. In terms of structure, they changed the single-spring pneumatic diaphragm actuator to a multi-spring diaphragm actuator, and the valve structure was only improved, not changed. Its outstanding feature is that the weight and height of the Gate Valve are reduced by 30%, and the flow coefficient is increased by 30%.
The focus in the 1990s was on the research, improvement and improvement of reliability and special difficult products. By the end of the 1990s, the tenth structural product, the full-function ultra-light valve, was launched. Its outstanding features are breakthroughs in reliability, function and weight. Functional breakthrough - a product with full functions, so one product can replace many products with incomplete functions, making selection, use and variety simpler.
