Common sense of Ball Valve selection and its structural principles

1. Applicability

The fluid in the pipeline must be consistent with the medium calibrated in the selected Ball Valve series model. The temperature of the fluid must be less than the calibrated temperature of the selected Ball Valve. The allowable liquid viscosity of the Ball Valve is generally below 20CST. If it is greater than 20CST, it should be noted. Working pressure difference, when the high pressure difference in the pipeline is less than 0.04MPa, direct-acting and step-by-step direct-acting types such as ZS, 2W, ZQDF, ZCM series should be used; when the low working pressure difference is greater than 0.04MPa, the pilot type (pressure Differential type) Ball Valve; the high working pressure difference should be less than the maximum calibrated pressure of the Ball Valve; generally Ball Valve work in one direction, so pay attention to whether there is a back pressure difference, and if there is a Check Valve installed. When the fluid cleanliness is not high, a filter should be installed in front of the Ball Valve. Generally, Ball Valve require better media cleanliness.

Pay attention to the flow aperture and pipe diameter; Ball Valve generally only have two-position switch control; if conditions permit, please install a bypass pipe to facilitate maintenance; when water hammer occurs, the opening and closing time of the Ball Valve must be customized. The power supply current and power consumption should be selected according to the output capacity. The power supply voltage is generally allowed to be about ±10%. It must be noted that the VA value is higher during AC starting.
2. Reliability
Ball Valve are divided into two types: normally closed and normally open. Generally, the normally closed type is selected, which opens when the power is turned on and closes when the power is turned off. However, when the opening time is long and the closing time is short, the normally open type should be selected. Life test is generally a type test project in factories. To be precise, there are no professional standards for Ball Valve in my country, so be cautious when choosing a Ball Valve manufacturer. When the action time is short and the frequency is high, the direct-acting type is generally selected, and the fast series is selected for large diameters.
3. Security
Generally, Ball Valve are not waterproof. If conditions do not permit, please choose a waterproof type. The factory can customize it. The high calibrated nominal pressure of the Ball Valve must exceed the high pressure in the pipeline, otherwise the service life will be shortened or other unexpected situations will occur. For corrosive liquids, all stainless steel types should be selected, and for highly corrosive fluids, plastic king (SLF) Ball Valve should be selected. Explosive environments must use corresponding explosion-proof products.
4. Economical
There are many Ball Valve that can be used universally, but economical products should be selected on the basis of meeting the above three points.
